To reduce the influence of awards and tribunals. To encourage performance based remuneration. To allow employers and employees to form individual forms of agreements which suits an individual’s needs free from interference of third parties if that is what they seek. To allow employees the freedom to associate or not with Unions or other organisations. Awards and agreements should have a fixed period of operation and termination should not take effect until either party gives appropriate notice.
